The Robin: Erithacus rubecula: Recognisable by it's bright red breast, the Robin is one of the nations favourite song
birds, and can be heard merrily chirping away throughout the
winter months. Males and females are virtually identical, the young don't have a red breast and are spotted with golden brown. The Robin is relatively a small bird, but don't be fooled by it's appearance the male can be quite aggressive and are highly territorial they will quickly drive away intruders. However the Robin can be quite tame and will often feed from the hand.
